Yin Yang Yoga
Yin Yang Yoga was introduced in the late 1970s by Paulie Zink. “Yin” style yoga asanas are holding floor-based poses for longer periods of time to increase flexibility while working on the meridians (energy channels) of the body. This Yin yoga was designed to complement (rather than replace) Yang practices of dynamic movements, flows and standing poses. The term Yin Yang Yoga now usually refers to a practice where both Yin and Yang aspects of yoga are included within the same session.
Yin is more internal, passive, cooling and downward. While Yang is more external, dynamic, warming and upward.
When these terms are applied to yoga, Yin Yoga is a slower practice where poses are passively held for longer, working on the deep, dense (Yin) connective tissues and joints in the body. Yang Yoga in contrast refers to a more active practice working on the (Yang) muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility.

Sivananda Yoga
Sivananda Yoga is a classical and holistic approach to Hatha Yoga that stretches and tones the whole body. Sivananda Yoga is a complete healing system designed to help the body maintain a natural healthy state. A typical Sivananda Yoga class involves 12 basic postures that seek to increase strength, flexibility, proper breathing, and ease in meditation.
A session typically starts with every practitioner resting in Savasana. This is then followed by Kapalabhati and Anuloma Viloma, and then rounds of Surya Namaskara before the standard program of the 12 basic asanas is practiced.
